Overview

Amber earned an M.F.A. in writing from Georgia State University and is an Assistant Professor of English at Perimeter College of Georgia State University. She serves as the Nonfiction Editor for The Chattahoochee Review. Her work appears in various journals and online magazines. Print journals include Five Points, Orange Coast Review, Southeast Review, and Arkansas Review, among others. Selected online work can be found at The Establishment, The Rumpus, ArtsATL, and elsewhere. Her awards include a NISOD Teaching Excellence Award (2016) and third place in the Playboy College Fiction Contest (2007). Broadly, her research interests include the intersection of culture, science, public policy, and human rights. Within this intersection, her research interests include feminist epistemology, how culture informs the language of science, and how the language of science informs healthcare—and, therefore, human rights.
