Kelley Fong is an assistant professor in the School of History and Sociology at Georgia Tech. Her primary research and teaching interests include poverty, inequality, social policy, social services, children and youth, education, and family life. Her current research on the U.S. child protection system draws on administrative data as well as qualitative fieldwork with mothers, child welfare agency staff, and professionals mandated to report child maltreatment. She is developing a book manuscript based on this research. Other research projects examine school choice and residential decision-making.
