Overview
Kenneth J. Knoespel’s published research includes books and articles on changing narratives in the history of science and technology. In addition to interpretive practices in the natural and human sciences, his work engages cognition and visual practice. He has held visiting appointments at the University of Uppsala, Cornell University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Russian Academy of Science, St. Petersburg. He works closely with colleagues at the Center for Baltic and Eastern European Studies in Stockholm and also at the University of Paris 8 (Vincennes-St. Denis). He is a founding editor of Configurations: A Journal of Literature, Science, and the Arts (Johns Hopkins University Press). For his work in Sweden, he received an Honorary Doctor’s Degree from the University of Umeå. Knoespel is McEver Professor of Engineering and the Liberal Arts and holds appointments in the School of Literature, Media and Communication and the School of History and Sociology.
