Pop-up Museum Exhibit: April 2021
Students in Associate Professor Carla Gerona’s HTS 3100 Introduction to Museum Studies class held their pop-up exhibit on the front patio of the Old CE building. Callie Barrentine and Talley Motes (third-years) and Kelsey Durick (fourth-year) said they worked on the exhibit for the entire semester, starting with research and building from there. The class chose the topic by submitting ideas to Gerona, who combined common themes to develop the final subject: Atlanta in the 1910s.
Vergara Publishes 'Fueling Mexico' - June 2021

Teresa Muñoz used her great grandparent's farm in Cuba as a case study in her research on Sugarcane and National Identity in Matanzas, Cuba. “Her [great grandmother’s] testimony through oral history is what really motivated me to explore this topic,” she said.
Jake Windham works in fine dining and was inspired by the sommelier at his job to research wine in Napa Valley. He looked at how events such as prohibition affected the industry in the past and how climate change may affect it in the future.
Olivia Villanova presents her research on Sustainability in Vogue: A Cultural History of Sustainable Fashion. "What I wanted to look at was 'how has the concept of sustainable fashion evolved over time?'" she said.
Yihua Xu, Phillip Carnell, and Grace Swift present their contributions to Assistant Professor Allen Hyde's ongoing community-partnership project Disaster Resilience and Youth Advocacy in Savannah, Georgia .
HSOC Holiday Reception - December 2021
Interim Chair Hanchao Lu presented Senior Academic Professional Amy D'Unger with a thank you plaque for her 16 years of service to the School.
Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies Jennifer Singh presented flowers to D'Unger, who is also the Associate Director of Undergraduate Affairs.
